Uca Barons baseball
Turning home field advantage into an opportunity.
If you're going to talk about urology at a baseball game, you might as well have some fun with it.
THE IDEA
We created a series of retro inspired posters for the bathrooms at Regions Field, using old school baseball language to talk about vasectomies, prostate cancer, overactive bladder and other UCA services.
The placement gave us a captive audience and a few extra seconds to make a clinical subject considerably more entertaining.
THE RESULT
UCA saw an uptick in website traffic and appointments during the campaign.
And yes, this was the same ballpark where Michael Jordan once suited up for the Barons. I wasn't going to leave that part out.
Concept Development, Creative Direction, Copywriting
Hi, I’m Marc.
I believe research is one of the most important parts of developing a great concept.
For this campaign, we dug through old baseball Americana books, studied vintage baseball cards and typography, and looked at photos of 1950s ballparks to see what the ads in the outfield actually looked like.
I’m also a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan and cried when they won the World Series.
Despite how cool I look in this Little League photo, I contributed very little to my team.
